{"id":768,"date":"2016-08-11T22:17:25","date_gmt":"2016-08-11T22:17:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8080\/?p=768"},"modified":"2016-08-11T22:17:25","modified_gmt":"2016-08-11T22:17:25","slug":"seasons-update-thursday-august-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wildblueberries.me\/alexanders\/seasons-update-thursday-august-11\/","title":{"rendered":"Season Update &#8211; Thursday, August 11, 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the view from our barn porch where I greet the most wonderful, interesting people every blueberry season. \u00a0It&#8217;s our annual visit. \u00a0Some stay longer than others &#8211; \u00a0we catch up, share snippets of our lives, and part with &#8220;see you next year.&#8221; \u00a0Add an\u00a0unbelievable group of young people who return every year to work with us, support us, and make us proud, and you have a recipe for great memories and special bonds.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s coming to an end. \u00a0This incredibly dry weather has allowed us to harvest every day, all day, and it&#8217;s nearly all harvested. \u00a0(Thankfully we had soaking rains in July for a bountiful crop!) \u00a0<strong>Saturday or Monday (August 13 or 15) will be our last day for fresh packing wild blueberries in 10 lb boxes<\/strong>, and too soon the U-Pick field will be mechanically harvested and closed for the season. \u00a0Continue to watch for season updates on the official closing date.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s still an incredible crop of blueberries untouched in the U-Pick field (such a great year!)
