how our small town fESTIVAL BEGAN

2016 A grass-roots committee brought back Gray’s annual summer festival. 2017, we rebranded as ‘Gray Blueberry Festival’ – in honor of wild blueberry barrens/farms located in Gray and surrounding towns – where youngsters once hand-picked wild Maine blueberries as their summer job. And, we  began partnering with Wild Blueberry Commission of Maine!

2022 Because of the many heart & brain health benefits of adding WILD Maine blueberries to your daily diet and importance native & wild bees are to pollinating our (nation’s) crops… we went ‘wild’ by rebranding our awesome, small-town event as the ‘Gray Wild Blueberry Festival’, with special thanks to UME’s New Media Department who created this dedicated website for us.

2025 If you’ve attended our annual Gray Wild Blueberry Festival more than once, you’ll notice we try to outdo ourselves every year to make YOUR festival going experience better each year!
