2024 Contests...prizes
Welcome to our iconic annual summer festival in Gray, Maine. We have contests for 'kids' of ALL ages and interests - including parents running beside their 4-year-old; a grandparent who came in 2nd Place in our 2019 Spelling Bee; and kids entering the Wild Blueberry Pie Eating Contest to see if they can win in their age bracket or if the parent can win the Wild Blueberry Pie Eating Contest in teen/adult age bracket. * These contests are free to enter; other contests have an entry fee $$. Cash prize and/or merchandise prize vary by contest.
Kids’ Fun Run Free, @ 10:45 am (1/4 mile loop around Pennell Park). Register at our Festival Info booth. Pint of wild blueberries for the 1st Place Boy and Girl in each age bracket.
Wild Blueberry Pie Eating Contests $$ @ 11:30 am Adults’ Contest followed by Kids’ Contest & @ 1:45 pm Kids’ Contest followed by Adults’ Contest. Register at the Gray Food Pantry booth; this event is a fundraiser for the Gray Food Pantry.
Sack Races take place throughout the day
Corn Hole Tournaments $$ starts @ 12:15 to ~ 1:30 pm. Social bracket & Competitive bracket. Register at the Girl Scout booth; this event is a fundraiser for Girl Scout Troop #587 and #163. 50/50 cash prizes!
Wild Blueberry Dessert Bake Off Pies, Cakes, Muffins…Free, drop off by 12:30 pm & Judging @ 1:00 pm at the Fest Info booth. 1st Place Winner receives $100.
Spelling Bee Free, @ 12:30 pm takes place under the Maple trees; is for grades 1st to 5th. Register at the Fest Info booth. 1st Place winner receives $25 and a pint of wild blueberries.
