2025 Contests &prizes!
Welcome to our iconic annual summer festival Gray Wild Blueberry Festival 'Celebrating Community & Culture' in our small town of Gray, Maine. We have contests for 'kids' of ALL ages and interests. Crowd favorite are the Wild Blueberry Pie Eating Contests to see kids win in their age bracket or if their parent wins the Wild Blueberry Pie Eating Contest in teen/adult age bracket. Cash prize and/or merchandise prize vary by contest.
Kids’ Fun Run FREE to enter. @ 10:30 am (1/4 mile loop around Pennell Park). Register at our Festival Info booth. $25 + pint of wild blueberries for the 1st Place Boy and Girl in 4-12 age bracket. Free pint of berries for 1st place 2-3 year old Toddler Race (shorter distance) – NEW!
Wild Blueberry Pie Eating Contests $ nominal registration fee. Morning contests @ 11:00 am Adults’ Contest followed by Kids’ Contest & Afternoon contests @ 1:30 pm Adults’ Contest followed by Kids’ Contest. Register @ Gray Food Pantry booth; this event is a fundraiser for the Gray Food Pantry.
Wild Blueberry Dessert Bake Offs – one for the adults + one for the kids/teens – Pies, Cakes, Muffins…FREE to enter, drop off by 12:30 pm & Judging @ 1:30 pm @ our Fest Info booth. 1st Place Adult Winner receives $100 + 1st Place Youth/Teen Winner receives $60.
Spelling Bee FREE to ennter. @ 12:30 pm takes place INSIDE Newbegin Hall – for grades 1st to 5th. Register at the Fest Info booth. 1st Place winner receives $25 and a pint of wild blueberries. G
